Welcome tot he ANLIVEDA ACADEMY on www.anliveda.org (the “Platform”). This online learning platform is built on WordPress and is owned and operated by Amara Alchemy FZCO, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (the “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Information on Data Collected on WordPress LMS

In addition to standard web traffic, our WordPress infrastructure processes personal data vital for your learning experience:

  • WordPress User Accounts: When you register, we store your username, email address, password (encrypted), and your student profile metadata.
  • LMS Content & Interaction: If you upload assignments, complete quizzes, or leave comments in our course sections, that data is stored directly within our secure database hosted on our servers.
  • Gravatar Service: An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: automattic.com. After approval of your profile or comment, your profile picture is visible to the public/other students in the context of your comment.

2. WordPress Cookies and Local Storage

When you interact with our WordPress Platform, the following cookies are set automatically:

  • WordPress Authentication Cookies:
    If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.
  • LMS Progress Session:
    We use local storage and cookies to remember where you paused a video, which lesson tab you opened, and your quiz progress. These are essential for contract fulfillment and cannot be disabled.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) & Google Signals
    We use GA4 to understand student behavior (e.g., which courses are most popular,
    where students drop off).
  • Purchase Events: We track dynamic e-commerce events (course views, checkouts, and successful enrollments) to optimize our ad spend via Google Ads.
  • Opt-out: Managed via our Cookie Banner or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Meta Pixel and Conversions API (CAPI)
    We utilize the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to track the success of our Instagram and social media marketing campaigns.
  • E-Commerce Event Tracking:
    When a user registers for a free mindfulness trial or purchases a yoga certification course, this specific event is sent to Meta to measure return on ad spend (ROAS).
  • Advanced Matching:
    To maximize ad attribution, we transmit securely hashed customer identifiers (like SHA-256 hashed email addresses) via CAPI. This data matches platform purchases to Meta accounts without exposing your actual personal
    identity.

3. Data Transfers via WordPress Plugins (Third-Party)

Our international WordPress site utilizes specific plugins that may process or transfer your data to external servers outside the UAE and the EEA:

  • Video Hosting via Plugins: We imbed secure video players like Vimeo to deliver our high-quality mindfulness and yoga video content without slowing down our server.
  • E-Commerce Integration: We use WooCommerce paired with secure payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, Amazon payment to process international transactions securely via API.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR / PDPL)

We process your data using the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: To create your student account, track your learning progress, issue certificates, and process course payments.
  • Consent: For marketing cookies, newsletters, or publishing your student reviews/testimonials.
  • Legitimate Interests: To prevent fraud, ensure platform security, and analyze aggregate learning patterns to improve our curriculum.

5. Third-Party Service Providers and Global Data Transfers

Because our platform connects global students with interactive tools, your data is shared with the following categories of third-party processors:

  • Learning Management & Video Hosting: Vimeo for secure video delivery
  • Live Class Software: Zoom Video Communications
  • Analytics & Ads Infrastructure: Google LLC, Meta Platforms Inc.
  • Email & Notification Systems: Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign and likewise
  • Payment Infrastructure: Stripe, Paypal, Amazon
  • International Transfers: Data may be transferred from your home country to the UAE, USA, or EU. We protect these transfers via Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and ensure compliance with cross-border transfer laws under the UAE PDPL.

6. Student Data Rights

Regardless of where you study from, you possess the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access & Portability: Download your student data record and billing history.
  • Rectification: Correct errors in your profile or the name displayed on your certificates.
  • Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): Request deletion of your student account (Note: This terminates access to purchased courses, and some billing records must be kept under UAE tax laws).
  • Marketing Opt-Out: Object to your learning data being used for lookalike audience targeting on Google or Meta.

7. Data Retention and Account Security

We store your account and learning progress data as long as your student account is active. If your account remains inactive for 24 months, we will anonymize or delete your data, except for historical financial records required by UAE accounting regulations. We protect your account using advanced encryption and secure tokenization.
